Learn at Your Own Pace
One-on-one language instruction allows you to set your own goals, progress at your own pace, and enjoy the flexibility of being able to meet with a native language instructor at times that are mutually convenient.
Private classes provide a highly personalized learning experience for your child. The private classes use the Easy Steps to Chinese book series, but because the sessions are one on one, the materials can be tailored to your child's specific language level and interests.
The lesson plan provides your child with a learning experience that blends playing and learning. The goal is to get your child excited about learning the language and to provide them with an engaging experience. To do this the sessions have your child playing Chinese games, learning songs, reading and speaking poems, and reading stories to help them use the language and learn it.
Students enrolled in our language programs can use these private lessons to make up for missed classes or catch up if they're feeling behind.
We also offer private after-school tutoring programs. We can provide the extra help to your child, work with your child's own textbooks, help with current homework questions, review past tests, and help your child prepare for the next exam.
Private sessions can be held on-line, at your home or office or at an agreed-upon location (locations that are over 1 hour from Carmel will have a transportation fee).
Each session is about 90 minutes in length and are offered between 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. We are flexible and weekend classes are also available. Please note that one class per week is our minimum for private classes. For beginners, we recommend class twice a week.
Private classes start when you and your child are ready.
